Impact on Stock following a Data Breach – Feb 2015 Edition

If you read my original post on the Impact on Company Stock following Data Breaches, you’ll know that I’ve effectively debunked the myth that breaches materially impact stock price. I’ve continued to update this post with new data every month or so as time permitted. Recently though it seems to have gained a lot of notice, so I’ve added some new data points to provide more insight into what I’ve been tracking.

(Data As of Feb 25, 2015)
Added:

  • Anthem Healthcare
  • Year After Change (Thanks Paul Jaramillo & Richard Betjtlich for the idea)
  • S&P500 Benchmarks (Thanks Patrick Perry for the idea)
  • Sector Benchmarks (Thanks Patrick Perry for the idea)
  • Theoretical $10k Investment
  • StockBreachImpact02252015

As time permits (or if you have a request), I’d be happy to piece other stock breach data together and add to this, just message me on twitter (@SeanAMason).
